Steve Hoyt, founder of Hoyt Properties, Inc., has been responsible for over $500 Million in transaction value during his career. Over the past thirty years, Hoyt Properties has developed and acquired over six million square feet of commercial space primarily in the Twin Cities.
In 1994, Hoyt Properties contributed approximately $100 Million in properties as a founder of First Industrial Realty Trust (NYSE-FR) in connection with its IPO. Steve remains a shareholder of the nation’s largest industrial REIT.
Steve continued his REIT investment by contributing a substantial portfolio to Investors Real Estate Trust (NASDAQ-IRETS). He served on the Board of this two billion dollar company.
With access to private and public capital, Hoyt Properties offers various real estate solutions to its clients comparable to those of its largest competitors. With over 23 years of commercial real estate experience, Julie understands that a property well managed enhances that property’s value; she has become and expert at tenant retention and long-term client relationships. Julie acquired a broad base of knowledge in the real estate industry during her tenure with CBRE as Associate Director of Property Management where she managed a team of 19 professionals and a portfolio of 12.4 million square feet of retail, office and industrial properties. Previously, Julie held a position of Assistant Vice President of New Business Development at United Properties. While there, she represented institutional clients including Aetna, Travelers, MassMutual, Principal, and Invesco, as well as local companies like Architectural Antiques, Northwestern Book Stores, Hirschfield's, Project Pathfinder, Peerless Land Company and Swervo Development Corporation.
Julie has been involved with a number of organizations. She was a board member on the St. Paul Mayor’s Business Review Council, Former Board Chair of the St. Paul BOMA; Co-Chair of the St. Paul BOMA Marketing Committee; Co-Chair of the St. Paul Downtown Alliance; the Gala Committee and Broker Committee. She was also a board member of the St. Paul Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee and a member of the Future of Fourth Street Committee. Julie is frequently sought out to speak at different real estate venues. She teaches an ethics course for MNCAR that is a mandatory requirement for real estate licensees and has been a presenter of the St. Paul BOMA annual report for the past few years.

Elizabeth began her career at Hoyt Properties in 2005. As Brokerage Coordinator, she provides administrative, marketing and brokerage support. She is responsible for designing and creating all marketing collateral for the team, primarily working in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, creating the marketing brochures, offering memorandums, marketing proposals, Brokers Opinions of Value packages, aerials, maps, site plans, financial information, and demographic reports, utilizing various resources such as MNCAR, CoStar and STDB Online.
As Property Manager, Elizabeth manages a variety of commercial real estate properties within the Twin Cities owned by Hoyt Properties, as well as investors, with a focus on building strong tenant relationships while overseeing the day-to-day management and operations. She is responsible for all facets of property management including; budgeting, financial reporting, accounts receivable and payable functions, vendor/contractor bidding and supervision, initiating and dispatching work order requests to building engineers and following up on those requests with tenants, maintaining lease data, and overseeing tenant relations.
Elizabeth earned a Bachelor of Art's degree in 2002 from the University of St. Thomas in Philosophy with a minor Geology.

Mackenzie has been around real estate her whole life, growing up in a two broker household in Rochester Minnesota. Her own real life experience in the industry began at age 18, working initially on her parent’s team as a licensed buyer’s agent with Keller Williams Premier Realty while attending college. Here she acquired the basic knowledge and practices of real estate and further developed her skillset in customer-relations. She advanced her career by graduating in 3 years with honors and a Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate Studies from the University of Saint Thomas. During her studies, she was awarded the Stoffer/Stensby Real Estate Scholarship, was a two-time SIOR scholarship recipient, and was elected to compete on the St. Thomas Team in the NAIOP University Challenge. Mackenzie's focus and dedication to her clients have proven to be an advantage in this changing real estate market.

Gary joined Hoyt Properties, Inc. in 1984 where he became Senior Vice President of Development. Over the past years, Gary has been involved in the acquisition, leasing, sale and development of over eight million square feet of industrial and office space. His duties include all phases of the planning and development of net leased design build projects, and new multi-tenant speculative development, as well as leasing responsibilities of Hoyt’s extensive portfolio of expertise in working with cities and other governmental organizations in the development process.
Gary received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Minnesota in 1969. He was a self-employed small business owner prior to joining Hoyt Properties.
