Steven Hoyt, founder of Hoyt Properties, Inc., has been responsible for over $500 Million in transaction value during his career. Over the past thirty years, Hoyt Properties has developed and acquired over six million square feet of commercial space primarily in the Twin Cities.

In 1994, Hoyt Properties contributed approximately $100 Million in properties as a founder of First Industrial Realty Trust (NYSE-FR) in connection with its IPO. Steve remains a shareholder of the nation’s largest industrial REIT.

Steve continued his REIT investment by contributing a substantial portfolio to Investors Real Estate Trust (NASDAQ-IRETS). He served on the Board of this two billion dollar company.

Steve received his J.D. degree from William Mitchell College of Law in 1977 after graduating from the University of Minnesota. He practiced law for a short while before devoting all of his time to his family companies.

Steve has served on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), the Better Business Bureau, Investors Real Estate Trust (IRET), and many charitable organizations including Bridging, Inc. and Summit Academy OIC.
